Semester : Semester I 2010/2011 Synopsis :
This subject focuses on basic and fundamental theory in bio-organic chemistry. Bio-organic chemistry is the knowledge of organic chemistry for the biology major. The fundamental of organic chemistry is essential prior to understanding the biochemistry and biomolecules since each of biological compound comprise of organic molecules. An introduction of this subject includes fundamental of the framework of organic compounds and their functional groups. The topic on the basic structure of biological compounds such as proteins, carbohydrates, nucleic acid and lipids is enclosed.
