Synopsis :
This course introduces the students to the field of curriculum studies. Students will be exposed to the different concepts and definitions of curriculum, the bases for curriculum construction, its major components, the processes and activities of constructing and developing a curriculum. Some curriculum models which are commonly used in educational and training institutions will also be discussed. Emphasis will be given to the process of curriculum development, its role in a nation’s educational system and its relationship with the process of teaching and learning. Issues of curriculum development especially in Malaysia and the surrounding countries will also be discussed.
