  Synopsis : This course is designed to  introduce students to the philosophy of knowledge which covers discussion concerning the definition of knowledge, its concept, theory, the history of knowledge, knowledge culture and transmission of knowledge from  the Islamic civilization to the West. The focus will also be given on the discussion about science, its concept, its historical development, cosmology, the Islamic view pertaining to the learning of science, the methodology of Islamic science as well as the comparison between the Islamic Science and  the modern science. The coverage also includes the discussion about technology, its concept, its historical development, possible solutions to the issues on technology and  the relation between technology and religion. In addition, it also discusses about the man in terms of concept, theory and the process of creation which encompasses the stages of life, the role of man, ethics and the purpose underlying the creation of man.
