This subject attempts to be more elaborate than the introductory subject as taught in Building Services 1 (IDS 0512) which concentrates on services for domestic scale buildings. Building Services IDS 1513 will emphasise on building services for bigger and taller buildings with aspects on water supply, mechanical ventilation, air conditioning systems, fire fighting systems, security systems, rubbish disposal systems, sewerage systems, lift and escalators. Since the lecture emphasises on the principles of the building systems, students are expected to engage in extra reading for better comprehension.
